Transalta Sarnia Collective Agreement

Most people who write reviews on sites like Glassdoor are those who are angry about layoffs or personal problems with their superiors. The truth is that those of us who rejoice in our job never take the time to share the other side of the story. I`ve been with TransAlta for four years. Over the past 25 years, my career has taken me to the four corners of the world working on sustainable development projects. I have had the privilege of being cared for by some of the greatest professionals in the region. However, I do not remember working for a more innovative, more advanced company than TransAlta Corporation. It is not one or two, but three of the superiors I have worked with in this company who have taken the time to make sure that I am involved in projects that I think are useful. The level of trust is one of the highest I have ever encountered, and ideas and suggestions are heard and followed. Most of the people I work with work hard because they feel respected and valued. Lately, the company`s management team has involved us all in an exercise in cultural change; and the results have been excellent. A positive attitude is contagious and ours is spreading rapidly. I`m really looking forward to being here for the rest of my career, and I know a lot of other people who feel the same way about TransAlta.

Last week, TransAlta took an exciting step when we began the final stage of our SUN 6 coal-to-natural gas unit. This $75 million project, due to be completed on October 24, represents a decisive step in our transition to 100% clean electricity by 2025. Instability, constant changes in org, restructuring, future unsympathetic and ruthless leaders, who take care of themselves only. People are treated as disposable, and they will tell you face to face, even if you have good results or above expectations. Leadership has focused on collecting themselves as bonuses, but turning around and people who have worked hard not to pay bonuses. HR is only in the name and there to make the commandments of the leadership. No company is perfect, but it really comes from people close in middle management and generally work well and hard. TransAlta`s Talent and Transformation Director Jane Fedoretz is a participant in this week`s “Women Lead Here” virtual event organized by @globeandmail.
